Meanwhile, I'm with the Groom and Groomsmen. It looks like we are just hanging out and having some fun as I photograph them.

Hello, I’m Bill Criss Owner and Lead Photographer here at BC Photography. My Wife and I live in a small rural town in Ohio Called Tallmadge, a suburb of Akron (the former Rubber Capital of the World) and about 35 miles south of Cleveland. I have been photographing many different types of genres for quite some time now.

What to Expect
At BC Photography, we use a team approach for shooting all Weddings and larger groups.
For weddings, my team consists of myself and usually my female assistant. I can bring in a third photographer for larger groups or by request.
My assistants (one female and one male) are young, talented photographers with a 'Good Eye' that blends with mine very well. I can teach almost anybody the theories, rules, and laws about photography (all that boring book stuff, as I used to think), but a person must have some raw talent that can be taken and honed into a sharp skill. With time and practice, that person's 'Talent' and 'Eye' will develop, and they will create a specific style of their own. This is the difference between a person taking a lucky "Pop Shot" and taking a well-planned "Photograph" that can be proudly hung on the wall.

I started to get the photography bug at a very young age (5-6 years old) when I found one of my dad’s old cameras and started playing with it; at around 10 years old, I got my first camera. When I was about 15 years old, I saved up and bought myself a used 35mm SLR and noticed that people started wanting to hire me or requesting me to photograph different things for them. Around 20, I decided to switch from the Pentax Camera I had used to Nikon Professional Equipment, and I have never regretted choosing Nikon.
Over the years, there have been many changes in the photography industry, from totally manual cameras to auto-focusing cameras to intelligent cameras that recommend how to take pictures to cameras no longer using film (Digital), which started a whole new era. Digital cameras are constantly improving and are always getting more innovative and faster. The software used to edit photos on the computer keeps improving, too.
In the many years that I have been in this industry, I have bought and sold many cameras, lenses, and gear, but I still have my first Nikon and Lens that I purchased to minor in Photography classes in college, and yes, it still works.

It is definitely a different time than when I first started. I would take the photos, take them to the Lab, drop them off, go back in a couple of days, pick them up, go through them, and then deliver all the good ones to the couple when they returned from their honeymoon. Now, I try to send 20 to 40 pictures (unedited) to them while they are still on their honeymoon. Option 2, which was the most common, would be for me to take all the photos, and at the end of the day, I would hand over all the exposed film to the couple and walk away. I never got to see most of my work because it was up to them to get it developed and printed.
My Team and I all shoot Nikon equipment and work very well together.
The reason for teams of 2 or 3 photographers to do weddings is that it allows us to photograph different areas simultaneously. One is with the Bride and her bridesmaids, and the other is with the Groom and groomsmen. We get photos from various angles and perspectives when the ceremony starts, but some churches do not allow us to move around much during the service portion. At the reception, we can catch the guests, speakers, and entertainment from different angles at different times, etc. After many weddings over the years, we've discovered that it works out much better and gives a more excellent final product to use the team approach. (So, whomever you choose, ensure there are at least two shooters.)

1. Familiarization:
We will not take your money, and you will not hear from us until it’s time for your Wedding or photo shoot.
We will set up several meetings/consulting sessions; these can take place in person, via video chat, Zoom, or over the phone. We want to meet with you and your fiance(fiancee) to get acquainted with the two of you. Therefore, we recommend at least one in-person meeting. This also allows for when the wedding day finally comes. It is more like we are just some friendly acquaintances coming to your wedding instead of strangers you don’t know but hired. Usually, this day is filled with a bunch of strangers that you hired to take care of all the things needing to be taken care of, so it is kind of nice to be a little familiar with the team handling your photos because we will be in close company with each other for most of the day. Plus, this makes for a more relaxed and comfortable session, too.
2. Next-Day Samples
After the shoot, by the next day, I will text or email you some photos, usually between 20 and 40, for a wedding (usually 10-20 a day for a few days to keep a little surprise coming each day for the first part of your honeymoon). These photos will be low-res, watermarked, but unedited, perfect for you to share on social media.

3. Online Photo Gallery
As the photos get edited, I will upload them to an online Photo Gallery, where you and your loved ones, to whom you permit me to send links, can view and download a copy of each photo they like. Again, these will be Low-res & Watermarked but edited photos. (Low-res means that it shows nicely on a computer or phone screen and loads quickly; they would produce a 4x6 print but only around 125 dpi. It's not the best for printing, but it's great for social media or sending electronically. Watermarked means that our copyright logo is somewhere on the photo.)
4. Guaranteed Minimum Number of Photos
You will receive at least the guaranteed number of photos that were promised to you. See the contract for specific details.
5. Get more than you pay for
We always strive to give our customers more than what they are expecting.

Our 'Caricature Artisan' Jered will set up a 'Live' Caricature Booth at your reception, event, party, or celebration. He will draw a caricature of any of your guests or small group of guests right in front of them. He can do non-themed or themed caricatures. And your guest gets to take their drawings home with them for free.
